It Snowed!

Oh okay only about 2-3 inches but hey it's a start and I'm not complaining. It's actually warmed up to bearable temperatures here. We froze our butts off at the tree lighting in Leavenworth; however enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Visconti's Restaurant. Would suggest this place to anyone it was fabulous food. I ordered the Veal Milanese with Lemon Pepper mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. This dish was incredible however the mashed potatoes were a bit over the top for my taste. Just too much lemon in one sitting. Luca had the most to die for dish and I mean to die for it looked like a heart attack on a plate but it tasted unbelievable. Waylon stayed with the old stand by tried and true "pepzironi" pizza which had a fabulous sauce and crust (crusty and thin just like I like em'). Following our trip to Leavenworth we finally got off our hind ends and hunted down our Christmas Tree. I'll post some pictures of all the adventures soon. Stay warm.

Good tidings to you...

I always love this time of year when the snow is falling outside and the air just seems to be a bit fresher. Oh, wait a minute it's 10 degrees outside with no hope of snow reaching the okanogan valley any time soon. I hate deep freezes...I really hate them! This is about the time of year when I really wished I lived somewhere mild and sunny, not Florida or anything heinous like that but somewhere the sun hits my face and the breeze feels like a nice fall day. When you just want to spend all day outside and keep thinking of reasons you must be outside. Oh well I guess I'm stuck in the deep ice pit I call home (sigh). Speaking of this time of year...Christmas time, yeah! We are taking a trip this weekend to Leavenworth and meeting my folks for dinner; at Cafe' Monet (blog to follow, to OH and awe over their wonderful food) and festivities for my dad's birthday. I'm sure we'll do the usual pictures with Santa, tree lighting etc. Actually this town is supposed to be pretty spectacular all lit up for the holidays so we should not be without things to do and see. We'll see how the Santa visit goes this year however. Last year was a complete disaster. We tried this picture taking twice, sidebar (why it's so important for us as parents to get these Santa pictures taken of our children; to insure the cruelty we endured as children?) Anyhow the picture was taken and it was Santa, Waylon and myself between him and the jolly man. The only way he would take the picture. I guess I should be proud he knows stranger danger, I mean these Santa's can look a little sketchy at times. Well, hope everyone's enjoying this wonderful time of year and maybe you've gotten a bit further than I have on decorating. We're getting the tree this weekend I swear!

Sure....I was going to post more often

I think I'm just not meant for this blogging business. I really have had a lot going on lately. The county was thinking of closing the Extension Office here recently and we were on pins and needles awaiting the decision. So far we have been spared for the current year. I was under that cloud looming above to tell Luca I might lose my job and then with great relief thanks to such a supportive community we made it out with most everything intact. I little weathered for wear I'd say, but we made it. Thought I might be polishing up that old resume....whew! Well we had thanksgiving here at our house again this year with my family and I cooked one fabulous bird if I do say so myself. Well other people did like it too! Thank god! Waylon is beginning this independent stage and learning more and more about cause and effect. Which is pretty comical to watch from an observers point of view. He certainly can blow us away with the things he remembers, I told Luca perhaps he needs to take lessons from his son. Well I'll try a little harder to keep on top of this blog thing. I plan on sending this address out to all our relatives who have Internet during the holidays and adding pictures with the blog once in awhile. Holiday cards and blogs to come.
